machine learningAlexa skills, Google Home actions, FB messenger bots, intelligent assistants – the world of conversational interfaces is booming. Enterprises want in, but a lack of skills and knowledge in this dynamic market makes it almost impossible for businesses to embrace this new trend.

To solve this problem, a new platform named Conversation helps enterprises to develop their conversational apps seamlessly in 3 simple steps. The platform also leverages machine learning to constantly improve conversational dictionaries and build an enriched, fluent and natural correspondence with any device whilst maximizing the user’s communication.

We sat with Rachel Batish, co-founder and CRO to learn more about the market and the solution that Conversation. One is offering.

Q: What is conversational UI, and what are the challenges that businesses face nowadays?

A: Conversational UI or conversational apps allow users to instantly communicate with other apps and websites in an interface that simulates human interaction through the use of a computer. The further this technology advances, the more mimics human behavior. With the penetration of devices and services such as Amazon Alexa and Google Home, as well as various chatbots and voicebots, this new trend offers many opportunities for businesses, but also quite a few challenges.

Two main challenges that business face today are: 1. responding to a large number of devices and channels that exist (The further this technology advances, the more it mimics human behavior) and 2. Building a comprehensive and advanced conversational UI, which is very different from the classic graphic UI, which we all got used to in the last 30 years.

Q: How does Conversation.one help those businesses to overcome these challenges?

A: Conversation.one helps businesses to connect their business logic once and then have it automatically deployed on all conversational devices and interfaces in one single process. This way enterprises can build their Amazon Echo skills, their Google Home actions and FB messenger bots as well as chat and voice-bots in just a few minutes. It is a true build once deploy everywhere platform!

The platform offers an intuitive, visual and user-friendly dashboard, that does not require coding nor programming. This way there is no complex deployment or integration requirements, and the conversational solutions can be launched in minutes!

To help organization build their conversations, we provide with pre-made “dictionaries” that are basically pre-built conversations, focusing on specific verticals. We all understand that the success (and failure) of conversational communications lies in the level of the pre-configured conversation. The more fluent, natural, broad, enriched and flexible the conversation between the users and the device is, the better chances they will continue to communicate using this and similar channels.

Our templates include thousands of supporting sentences samples, that make sure that the user will always be understood by the machine, and will receive the correct answers.

Q: Are those conversations updated over time?

Yes! And this is one of the most important components of our platform. The possibility to learn from real-time conversations, and to include this feedback on the platform, is crucial for the success of conversational apps over time. This is why we introduced TheBrain – a machine learning algorithm that is constantly building, enhancing and improving conversations between the end users and different conversational devices and services by building sustainable and evolving “dictionaries” that offer a vertical-focused specialty and produce global and wide conversations and interactions. TheBrain creates a continuous feedback and learning cycle between businesses and end-users that grows independently based on market needs.

Q: What verticals are your targeting with Conversation.one?

Conversation.one is vertical-agnostic and can serve any need. Our pre-made dictionaries though are focusing on specific use case and segments.

In our first roll-out we are targeting financial institutions. Using our platform every bank or credit union can build their banking Alexa skill, Google Home action, FB messenger bots or intelligent assistant, in 3 simple steps; after selecting their name from a list of more than 10,000 pre-integrated institutions, they choose the devices and services they’d like to support, and that’s it. They can test it and have it launched. We currently have a dozen of large and medium-sized financial institutions that are currently engaged with the platform.

Our next target market are retailers and ecommerce. There is a great value that we can provide online-shoppers and businesses – both in building the conversational apps, and improving them over time using our machine learning system.

Q: What is your vision? How do you see the conversational UI world developing?

I always say that the movie “Her” is my vision to the world of conversational UI and intelligent assistants. It may sound scary and crazy, but I believe this is where we are heading to. In the shorter term, I believe that conversational solutions will replace mobile, and that we will see a huge decrease in the usage of mobile device.
